Ambrel Lake Park outdoor rink opens for winter skating

The outdoor rink at Ambrel Lake Park is now open for free public skating. The City of Wrenford is ready to welcome skaters of all ages to the ice at 1350 Ambrel Lake Road as winter weather settles in.

The rink is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. while the ice holds. Skaters can bring their own gear, and ice skates are available to rent for $5.00 at the park shelter. The City’s Winter Maintenance and By-law Enforcement teams will clear the area and check the ice thickness regularly to keep the space safe. Please remember that the rink is a public space, so we ask that you keep noise levels down in the evening and take your personal items with you when you leave.

“Outdoor skating is a beloved winter tradition in Wrenford, and we want to make sure our rinks are safe and welcoming for everyone,” said Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. “We encourage families to bundle up, enjoy the fresh air, and keep an eye on the ice conditions before heading out.”

Before you go, check the weather and ice reports on the Parks & Trails page or call Wrenford 311 at 311 for the latest updates. The City will close the rink if the ice becomes unsafe or if temperatures rise above freezing. If you see any damage to the boards or notice unsafe ice, report it immediately so crews can respond quickly.
