The Wrenford Public Library is launching a new teen tech workshop series starting next week at the Ambrel Lake Branch. The program gives teens aged 12 to 17 a chance to learn coding, 3D printing, and digital media skills in a hands-on environment.
Teen Tech Tuesdays runs on the second Tuesday of every month from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Participants will work on small projects that introduce basic programming, graphic design, and safe internet practices. All materials and equipment are provided at the branch, which is located inside the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre at 1300 Ambrel Lake Road.
“We want to make sure our teen patrons have a space to explore technology and build skills they can use in school and future careers,” said Fiona Gallagher, GM Community Services. “These workshops are designed to be low-pressure and fun, so teens can learn at their own pace.”
You can register online through Wrenford Recreation Online or by calling the branch directly at 519-555-0132. The program is free for all Wrenford residents and non-residents alike. Spaces are limited to 15 participants per session, so early registration is recommended.
If you are a teen who loves video games, wants to design your own apps, or is just curious about how computers work, this is a great place to start. You do not need any prior experience to join.
