Wrenford property tax payment deadline extended to January 2

City of Wrenford residents have a few extra days to make their property tax payments this holiday season. The City has announced that the payment deadline is now January 2, 2024.

This extension is in place to give property owners more flexibility over the busy winter holidays. Whether you plan to pay by mail, drop a cheque at the Revenue Services box, or set up a payment plan, the extra time means you do not have to rush before the New Year.

"We know the holidays can be a stressful time for household budgets," said Leah Thibodeau, City Treasurer. "This extension ensures that no one gets hit with a late fee because they were waiting until the last minute to send in their payment."

Property tax is the City's largest source of revenue, funding essential services like roads, transit, and parks. When reviewing the annual Budget, Council balances these service needs with what residents can afford to pay. Making sure your payment arrives on time helps keep that balance stable for everyone.

Residents can pay their property tax bill in several ways:

  • Online through the City's secure payment portal
  • By mail using the payment coupon on your tax bill
  • At the Revenue Services drop box inside Wrenford City Hall (open 24 hours a day, seven days a week)
  • By setting up pre-authorized monthly, quarterly, or bi-annual payments, which are available at any time

If you are struggling to pay your property tax bill, the City offers instalment plans and financial assistance options. You can speak with a revenue officer at 519-555-0100 or visit Property Tax for more details.
