The City of Wrenford is asking residents and business owners to share their priorities for the 2024 budget through a new online survey. Launched today, the survey is part of the City's annual budget engagement process and will run until December 10, 2023.
The 2024 budget will set spending levels for city services, including roads, water, waste collection, transit, and community programs. The survey helps City Manager Robert Eng and the finance team understand which services matter most to Wrenford residents and where they would like to see investments or efficiencies.
"We are looking for clear direction on what you value most in our city," says Leah Thibodeau, City Treasurer and General Manager of Corporate Services. "Your responses will directly shape the service level recommendations we bring to Council in December."
The budget engagement process is open to everyone. Whether you live in the Downtown, Benchlands, Wildrye, or anywhere else in the city, your input helps the City balance its books while keeping essential services running. The City will compile all survey results into a summary report, which will be presented to City Council in December. Council members will use this report, along with input from the Mayor's Budget Task Force, to make final spending decisions.
You can take the survey online at wrenford.ca/budget2024. If you need help completing it, you can visit Service Wrenford at City Hall or call 519-555-0100.
Residents who want to speak at a council meeting about the budget can register to speak when City Council reviews the draft budget in December. Registration details will be posted on the Budget engagement page closer to the meeting date.
The final 2024 budget will be adopted by Council in December 2023. Once approved, property tax bills will be mailed out in February and April 2024.
