The City of Wrenford is pleased to announce that the Northgate Aquatic Centre at 910 Northgate Boulevard will reopen to you on Monday, December 15, 2023, following necessary mechanical repairs.
The facility was temporarily closed on December 8 for urgent work on its heating and pump systems. City crews worked through the holiday break to complete the upgrades and ensure the water temperature meets comfort and safety standards for all users.
"We appreciate the patience of our community while we completed these essential mechanical repairs," said City Manager Robert Eng. "The Northgate Aquatic Centre is a vital part of our winter recreation network, and we are glad to have it back up and running safely for families, swimmers, and community groups."
With the mechanical systems fully operational, all regular programming and public access resume immediately. You can join public swim, lap swim, and aquafit classes as scheduled. Swimming lessons and community group rentals are also available for booking. The dive tank and waterslide are open for use.
If you registered for a programme before the closure, your spot is saved. If you are looking to join a new class, you can register online or at the front desk. The Tamsin Valley Leisure Centre in the Benchlands neighbourhood remains open throughout the winter with full programming, including its 25-metre lap pool and leisure pool.
Please note that the Kingfisher Outdoor Pool on Kingfisher Court is closed for the season. Outdoor splash pads and pools will not reopen until late June 2024.
