Kingfisher Outdoor Pool closes November 5 for winter storage

Wrenford’s Kingfisher Outdoor Pool and splash pad will close on Sunday, November 5, 2023, to begin winter storage and seasonal maintenance. The facility at 15 Kingfisher Court will remain closed through the cold months while crews drain the pool, winterize plumbing, and prepare the site for next summer.

Residents can enjoy the pool and splash pad through the final operating day. Regular hours apply until the closing date. After November 5, the splash pad will be drained, and the pool basin will be cleaned and covered for the winter. The City’s Recreation team will inspect the surrounding deck and fencing before handing the site over to the facilities maintenance crew.

“We know how much our residents rely on these outdoor spaces to beat the summer heat,” says Caroline Dubé, Recreation Programs Coordinator. “Closing early November gives our team the time they need to do a thorough winter preparation so everything is safe and ready to go when the weather turns warm again.”

Next season, the pool is expected to open in late June, following the City’s standard outdoor pool schedule. Registration for swim lessons and programs will open online in early spring. Keep an eye on News & Events and our social media channels for the exact opening date and any weather-related schedule changes.

If you have questions about the closure, program registration, or other outdoor facilities, you can reach the Recreation & Culture team through the Contact page or call 519-555-0125 during business hours. You can find more information on other outdoor spaces on the Parks & Trails page.
