As the City of Wrenford prepares for the Christmas holiday, residents should note that there will be no garbage, recycling, or organics collection service on Tuesday, December 25. Collections scheduled for that day will take place on Wednesday, December 26. Please have your carts curbside by 7:00 a.m. on the new collection day.
Here is how the schedule shifts for the rest of the week:
- Monday, December 24 (Christmas Eve): Your regular collection day.
- Tuesday, December 25: No collection.
- Wednesday, December 26: Collect your delayed Tuesday items.
- Thursday, December 27 and the following days: Your regular schedule resumes.
To avoid missed pickups, please follow the standard preparation rules. Place your blue bin and green bin out by 7:00 a.m. on the new collection day. Keep your black cart and any extra bags out for the original day of collection if they are not delayed. Remember, all items must be placed by 7:00 a.m. and collected by 10:00 a.m. to ensure crew safety and timely service.
Please note that Christmas trees are not collected this week. You can keep your tree until the first week of January for curbside pickup, or bring it to the East Wrenford Waste Management Facility for free disposal. The City will turn your recycled tree into mulch for our parks through the Wrenford Green Mulch programme.
City Manager Robert Eng says, "We want to make sure our waste collection crews have time to celebrate with their families, and we appreciate residents' patience as we adjust the routes."
