Free public skating available Boxing Day at Westbrook

Join us for a free public skate at the Westbrook Community Arena on Boxing Day, December 26. The rink will be open from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m., and everyone is welcome to lace up and glide.

This special holiday session gives residents a chance to enjoy the ice without an admission fee. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced skater, the arena is ready for you. Remember to bring your own skates, helmet, and warm layers, as the outdoor air in Wrenford can be chilly. The Westbrook Community Arena features two ice pads and hosts public skating sessions throughout the winter. Staff will be on hand to assist with skate rentals if you forgot your pair, and a warming lounge is available nearby.

"We want to make sure families and neighbours have a fun, affordable way to celebrate the holidays together," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "Free skating is a great way to keep the community spirit going after the busy Christmas rush."

Skaters should arrive a few minutes early to get settled on the ice. The Westbrook Community Arena is located at 40 Westbrook Drive, just off Northgate Boulevard. If you need directions, the arena is easily accessible from the Benchlands and Westbrook neighbourhoods.

For more information on seasonal public skating times, rental options, and safety rules, visit our Public skating sessions and schedules page. You can also find details about other Programs and Contact the City if you have questions.

We look forward to seeing you on the ice.
