Council has approved the 2023 Lights at the Falls celebration, returning to the Fallsview neighbourhood from Friday, December 1 to Sunday, December 31. The city will host the annual winter festival to bring families and neighbours together for an evening of lights and seasonal activities.
The main display will stretch along Fallsview Road and spill into the surrounding streets. Visitors can walk through illuminated tunnels, view temporary art installations, and catch live music performances at the Fallsview Arts Centre. Free shuttle buses will run from the Downtown Transit Terminal and the Benchlands Lookout Park parking lot every 20 minutes.
“Lights at the Falls is a long-standing tradition that brings our community together during the darker winter months,” said Mayor Danielle Okafor-Price. “We are thrilled to welcome families, neighbours, and visitors to celebrate the season right here in Wrenford.”
To keep everyone safe, the Wrenford Police Service and By-law Enforcement will increase patrols in the area. Drivers should expect slower traffic and follow detour signs. Pedestrians should use crosswalks and wear bright or reflective clothing. If you plan to bring a pet, please keep them on a short leash and clean up after them.
