Join us for a free public skate at Westbrook Community Arena on Boxing Day, Thursday, December 26, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome to lace up and enjoy the ice.
This special session is part of our holiday programming to get families and friends out of the house and moving. Skating is free for all ages, and you do not need a recreation card or a prior registration to join. Just show up at the rink door.
If you need skates or a helmet, we have rentals available at the front desk. Skate rentals cost $42.00 for a 10-pack, or you can bring your own gear. Remember that CSA-approved helmets are mandatory on the ice, and we offer a free helmet lending program if you need one.
"We want to make sure everyone in Wrenford can enjoy the winter season together," says Fiona Gallagher, General Manager of Community Services. "Free skating is a great way to celebrate the holidays and stay active with your neighbours."
Keep in mind that regular winter parking rules still apply on December 26. If a snowfall leaves more than 8 centimetres of snow on residential streets, the overnight on-street parking ban will be in effect from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Please park in a garage or on a non-removal street to avoid your vehicle being ticketed or towed.
For full details on all open skating times, rental fees, and safety rules, visit our public skating sessions and schedules page. You can also view the full Programs calendar to see what else is happening at our community arenas this season.
We look forward to seeing you on the ice!
