Ambrel Lake Park winterization complete ahead of Ice Days

City crews have finished winterizing Ambrel Lake Park ahead of the February Ice Days celebrations. The seasonal work ensures that all outdoor amenities are protected through the cold months and ready for use when the weather warms up.

Over the past two weeks, maintenance staff have covered playground equipment, secured the picnic shelters, and cleared the boardwalk and main walking paths of standing water and debris. The park will remain closed for play and picnics until spring.

Make sure you keep pets on a leash at all times. The ploughed paths through Ambrel Lake Park are open for winter walking, but the natural areas and boardwalks are closed to protect fragile plant life and prevent erosion. If you see a damaged fence or a broken bench, report it to City Services at 519-555-0112. Local businesses interested in applying for seasonal vendor permits or exploring small business support programmes can find details on the Economic Development page.

"Getting the park ready for winter means protecting the amenities for another busy season," said Fiona Gallagher, general manager of community services. "We appreciate residents who follow the seasonal rules and help us keep the park safe for everyone."

The park will reopen for play and events in May. In the meantime, the nearby Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre and the Tamsin River Trail System remain open for winter activities.
