Railside Park Playground Closure

The City of Wrenford wishes to inform residents that the playground equipment at Railside Park will be temporarily closed effective immediately. This closure is necessary to facilitate urgent repairs and safety inspections on the existing structures.
Our maintenance teams have identified wear and tear on several key components that require immediate attention to ensure the safety of all users. While we strive to keep our parks open and accessible, the well-being of our community is our top priority. The closure will allow contractors to replace worn bolts, repair loose decking, and repaint surfaces that have become slippery due to weather exposure.
Expected Duration
We anticipate the repairs will take approximately two weeks to complete. We expect the playground to reopen by the end of November 2018. Please note that weather conditions may impact this timeline. If heavy snow or ice occurs before the work is finished, the closure will extend until conditions allow for safe construction work.
Alternative Recreation Areas
During this time, we encourage families to visit other neighbourhood parks. The playgrounds at Railside Park are located in the Railside neighbourhood, near the intersection of Main Street and 4th Avenue. Other popular locations include the playgrounds at Riverside Flats and the facilities in Downtown.
Reporting Issues
If you notice any other maintenance issues in the park, such as damaged benches or lighting problems, please report them to us. You can report a sidewalk or pathway issue online or call Wrenford 311 at 519-555-0111. For urgent safety hazards, such as broken glass or exposed wiring, please call the main line at 519-555-0100.
