Drop-in skating schedules
Wrenford offers drop-in public skating at our indoor arenas from the first Monday of December through March 31. Schedules are updated every week on Monday at 8:00 a.m. You can find times for public skate, 50+ leisure skate, and sticks and pucks at Westbrook Community Arena (40 Westbrook Drive) and Eastfield Twin Arenas (620 Eastfield Road). Select drop-in filters to see times by location or activity type.
Reservations are not required for drop-in skating. Show up when it fits your schedule. For the latest updates or last-minute changes, check Check holiday facility hours.

- Public Skate: Open to all ages. Skate freely on the ice.
- 50+ Leisure Skate: A relaxed morning session designed for older adults. Low volume music and a slower pace.

Rules and safety
Safety on the ice is our top priority. Please follow these guidelines:
- Helmets: Participants 17 years and under must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet with a full face cage. Helmets are highly recommended for all skaters 18 and over.
- Footwear: Ice skates or approved ice cleats/grippers are required while on the ice surface.
- Apparel: Long pants and long sleeves are recommended. Loose scarves and dangling drawstrings should be tucked in.
- Supervision: Children under eight years old must be accompanied on the ice by someone 14 years or older.
- Accessibility: Skating aids, sledges, and wheelchairs are permitted on the ice. Staff can assist you in finding a suitable spot.
- By-law: The Park and Facility Use By-law 2025-162 governs conduct in all recreation facilities. Aggressive behaviour, fighting, or dangerous play will result in removal from the premises.
Outdoor rinks
When the Tamsin Valley reaches freezing temperatures, the City maintains outdoor ice rinks for free public use. These rinks are open on a first-come, first-served basis and are weather dependent. Skaters use outdoor rinks at their own risk. Please check ice thickness and obey all posted signage.
- Riverside Flats Park (25 Water Street): Features a full-sized outdoor rink with boards and lights. Washrooms are available nearby.
- Ambrel Lake Park (1350 Ambrel Lake Road): A smaller, sheltered rink near the boardwalk.
During the winter, an overnight on-street parking ban runs from December 1 to March 31 between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. to allow snowplows to clear main roads. Plan your drive or use Wrenford Transit.
