Heritage rehabilitation incentives

As a property owner in Wrenford, you play a vital role in maintaining the unique character of our city. The City of Wrenford offers incentive programs to help you upgrade heritage properties to modern standards. These grants are designed to offset the higher costs associated with restoring historic structures while ensuring they meet current safety and energy efficiency requirements.

Who is eligible?

You may qualify for these incentives if your property is listed on the City of Wrenford Heritage Register or is located within a designated Heritage Conservation District. The property must be a contributing structure within that heritage context. We encourage you to verify your property's status before applying.

What can you do?

Funding is available for a variety of rehabilitation projects. These include structural repairs, restoration of original architectural features, and upgrades to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. You can also apply for support to improve energy efficiency through the installation of insulation, windows, and heating systems that respect the heritage character of the building.

How to apply

To begin the process, you must submit a preliminary application to the Heritage Planning Department. Our staff will review your proposal and provide guidance on eligible expenses. Once approved, you can proceed with the work. After completion, you must submit final invoices and photographs of the completed work to receive the rebate. Please note that work cannot begin before receiving written approval from the City.
