Get ready to hit the ice! This session is designed for youth ages 8 to 12 who want to improve their basic hockey skills in a fun and supportive environment. Coaches will work with players on skating strides, stops, turns, stickhandling, and passing. It is a great way to build confidence before the regular season starts or to pick up the sport for the first time.

When: Saturday, January 16, 2027, 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Where: Benchlands Curling Club (430 Benchlands Drive).

Cost: $25.00 for the full series. Payment is due at registration.

What to bring: Please bring your own hockey gear, including a helmet with a full face cage, skates, gloves, and a stick. You will also need a water bottle and a snack. The ice is maintained by the club, so please watch your step near the boards.

Registration: Spaces are limited, so you must register online through the City's Recreation portal. Registration opens on the first Monday of December. You can sign up from any device, or visit the service counter at Wrenford City Hall if you need help. A parent or guardian must register participants under 16.

Accessibility: The curling club has a ground-level entrance and accessible washrooms near the main lobby. If you require an accommodation to participate, please contact the Recreation Programs Coordinator, Caroline Dubé, at [email protected] at least five business days before the session.
