Get your garden and outdoor spaces ready for the cold months ahead at this hands-on workshop. Whether you have a backyard plot, a few raised beds, or large containers, you will learn simple steps to protect your plants and soil through the winter. The session is designed for homeowners and gardeners who want to keep their outdoor spaces in good shape when the snow starts to fall.

We will cover how to clean up plant debris, mulch garden beds, store tools safely, and prepare irrigation lines and outdoor fixtures so they do not freeze or crack. You will also receive tips on leaving some plant material in place to provide shelter for local insects and birds. Bring your own gardening gloves and a notebook to take notes. The workshop is held indoors at the Old Mill Museum & Archives, so you will be warm and dry while you learn.

Space is limited, so you must register in advance. The fee is $5.00 per person, and proceeds help fund the City's community garden programme. To sign up, visit our Facilities booking page or call 519-555-0100. If you need an accommodation to attend, please tell us when you register so we can make the right arrangements. The venue has an accessible entrance and washrooms on site.
