Join us for a cozy Winter Solstice Storytime and Hot Cocoa at the Riverside Flats Market Pavilion on Saturday, December 20, 2026. This free event is designed for families with young children who want to celebrate the shortest day of the year together. You will enjoy a collection of read-aloud books about winter, the changing seasons, and the light returning to our days. We will also sing a few simple songs and share stories that match the theme.

Hot cocoa will be served for everyone who registers. Because space in the pavilion is limited, you must register in advance. You can sign up at our Programs page. Please register at least two days before the event so we can prepare enough drinks and snacks.

The pavilion is fully accessible. Wheelchairs, strollers, and mobility aids are welcome. If you need special accommodations to attend, let us know when you register. Bring a small blanket or a folding chair if you prefer extra comfort. Dress warmly, as the December air can be chilly.

We expect the event to run for about one hour. After the stories and cocoa, you can explore the nearby Riverside Flats Park if the weather permits. Families are encouraged to stay and chat with other parents and caregivers.

If you have any questions about the event or need help with registration, call 519-555-0100 or email City Services. We look forward to seeing you there.
