Join us for a Winter Solstice Nature Walk at Wetlands on January 22, 2027, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This free, guided walk is designed for adults and families who want to explore the quiet beauty of Wrenford's wetlands during the shortest day of the year. You will learn about local winter ecology, spot animal tracks in the snow, and hear stories about the solstice traditions that have marked the changing seasons for generations.
Meet at the Kingfisher Park Shelter on 35 Kingfisher Court. Our naturalist guide will lead a gentle, one-kilometre loop through the nearby trails. The path is flat and mostly cleared, but please dress in warm layers, wear waterproof boots, and bring a thermos of hot cocoa or water. Children of all ages are welcome, and parents are asked to supervise their kids at all times.
Because the walk stays on cleared paths near the shelter, it is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers on dry days. If snow or ice makes the route slippery, we will offer an adapted, shorter loop that is fully accessible. Service Wrenford staff will be on hand to assist with registration and answer questions.
Registration is required so we can plan for supplies and safety. Sign up online through Service Wrenford or call 519-555-0100 by January 19. Spaces are limited to 25 people per group. If you have any accessibility needs or questions about the route, please let us know when you register. We look forward to sharing the quiet magic of the winter solstice with you.
