Join us at Meadowlark Park for the first storytime of the Winter Reading Challenge! Designed for toddlers and their caregivers, this free outdoor session will kick off our six-month reading program. We will gather around the open lawn to read favourite winter tales, sing seasonal songs, and try a simple paper-craft activity. Children who attend will receive a stamp in their reading challenge book and a list of library pick-up activities for the rest of the season.

Because we will be outdoors, please dress your little ones in warm winter clothes and bring a small blanket or mat to sit on. Strollers are welcome, but we recommend folding them during the circle-time portion so everyone has room to wiggle. If you already have a library card, bring it along so we can note your attendance, but you do not need one to participate.

Registration is required so we can plan for seating and craft supplies. Please sign up at least 24 hours in advance through the registration page. Space is limited to 20 participants per session.

The park is flat and wheelchair accessible. Accessible washrooms are located at the Meadowlark Family Centre, just a short walk from the gathering spot. If rain or extreme cold cancels the outdoor event, we will move the storytime inside the Meadowlark Family Centre at the same time. Check our service alerts page for updates.

Bring your favourite stuffed animal or blanket for extra comfort. We look forward to sharing stories and starting your winter reading adventure with you.
