Join us for the Winter Fitness Walk: Tamsin River Trail on Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This free, adult-focused fitness walk takes place at the Eastfield Boat Launch and follows the Tamsin River Trail System.

Whether you are looking to keep your winter routine on track or just want to get outside on a crisp morning, this walk is for you. The pace is relaxed and designed for all fitness levels. You will walk roughly three kilometres along the trail, enjoying views of the Tamsin River and the surrounding winter landscape.

December in Wrenford means snow and ice, so please dress in warm, layered clothing and wear footwear with good traction. We recommend bringing a thermos of hot tea or water, and microspikes or walking poles if you are unsure about the trail conditions. The trail is maintained by the City, but weather can change quickly, so please check the forecast before you head out.

No registration is required. Just show up at the Eastfield Boat Launch at 9:00 a.m. and we will meet there. The walk is self-guided, meaning you can start and stop as you like, but we encourage you to stick with the group for safety and company.

Accessibility note: The Tamsin River Trail System is a natural surface trail. Winter conditions may include packed snow, ice, or uneven ground. The trail is not fully paved, so participants with mobility aids should use caution or choose an alternative accessible route. If you need accommodations or have questions about trail accessibility, please contact the Recreation team.
