Bring your little ones to Copper Ridge Park for Storytime: Winter Wildlife and Snowy Tales. This free, drop-in event is designed for toddlers and their parents or caregivers. We will gather near the playground and benches to read stories about animals that brave the cold, from snowy owls to red foxes.

There is no registration required. Just arrive at the park entrance by 10:30 a.m. on December 19, 2026. The session runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Dress warmly in layers, and bring a small mat or blanket to sit on. The park has a water fountain and washrooms nearby, so plan your visit accordingly.

Our reading leader will guide you through short, interactive stories that teach children how different creatures find food and stay warm when the temperature drops. You can expect plenty of animal sounds, simple questions, and a chance for kids to practice their listening skills in a calm outdoor setting.

After the stories, we will talk about simple ways families can help local wildlife during winter. You will learn how to set up safe feeding stations and why leaving natural leaf litter on the ground matters. This event is part of our ongoing Nature & Environment series, which brings the community outdoors to learn about the seasons.
