Spring is just around the corner, and the trails at Copper Ridge Lookout are waking up. Join a City naturalist for a relaxed, all-ages walk designed to help you spot the very first signs of spring. We will look for early wildflowers, budding trees, and the birds that return as the snow melts.
No experience is needed. This walk is designed for beginners and families. We will move at a slow pace and stop often to look closely at the plants and listen to the forest. If you have young children, they are very welcome—just keep them close on the trail.
What to bring: wear sturdy walking shoes and dress in layers for the cool March weather. Bring a reusable water bottle and a small snack. Binoculars are optional, but we will have a few shared pairs if you would like to borrow one.
The route is mostly packed gravel with some gentle slopes. The path is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers in most sections, though the last hundred metres has a few small roots. If you need a fully accessible route or have specific mobility needs, please email [email protected] and we will point you to an alternative trailhead.
There is no registration required. Just meet at the Copper Ridge Lookout parking lot by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2027. The walk will last about two hours and end at 11:00 a.m. This event is free and open to everyone.
