Get ready for the October 26 municipal election at this free information session for residents in the Ashgrove neighbourhood and beyond. You will learn what to expect on election day, how to register as a candidate or voter, and where to find official voting locations.
City Clerk Nadia Kowalczyk will walk you through the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and explain the rules for campaign fundraising and spending. You can ask questions about advance voting, special ballots for voters who are away or have a disability, and how to update your address before the election.
Candidates running in Ward 4 will be on hand to introduce themselves and share their priorities. You can listen to their platforms, ask about local issues like transit, parks, and property taxes, and find out how they plan to serve the community.
No registration is required to attend. Just walk in during the event hours. The session will be held in the activity room at the Ashgrove Community Centre, 215 Fernhill Street. The building has an accessible entrance, free parking, and washrooms on site. If you need a large-print ballot or an interpreter, please let the staff know when you arrive so we can make arrangements for you.
Bring a photo ID and proof of address if you want to check your voter registration on the spot. Staff will be available to help you confirm your eligibility or update your information before the election.
