Bring your sense of adventure to the library for a morning of hands-on science! This March Break workshop is designed for kids ages 6 to 10 who love to see things fizz, pop, and bubble. You will learn about chemical reactions and geology while building your very own model volcano.

Our library staff will guide you through each step. We will mix safe household ingredients to create the famous baking soda and vinegar eruption. You will also get to decorate your volcano with clay, paint, and recycled materials. It is a great chance to work on your fine motor skills, follow instructions, and have fun with science.

What to bring: Please send your child wearing clothes that can get messy. We will provide aprons, but paint and clay can stain. Bring a reusable water bottle and a packed lunch if you plan to stay after the session.

Registration: Space is limited to 15 participants. You must register in advance at the Service Wrenford counter, by phone at 519-555-0100, or online through the library portal. The fee is $5.00 per child. Payment is collected at check-in.

Accessibility: The Main Branch is fully wheelchair accessible. We have an accessible entrance on Mercer Street and elevators to the program room. If your child needs any specific accommodations to fully participate, please contact us ahead of time so we can prepare.
