Take advantage of the March break to explore the outdoors with a guided ecology walk along the Tamarack Trail. This family-friendly hike is designed for school-aged children and their caregivers. You will learn about early spring plants, track animal signs in the snow, and discover how the trail's ecosystem wakes up from winter.

The trail is mostly flat and well-maintained, making it accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. A staff member from Parks & Trails will lead the group and answer questions about local ecology. Please dress in warm layers and wear sturdy, waterproof footwear. Binoculars are welcome, and the City can provide a few pairs if you let us know when you register.

Registration is required so we can plan for group size and safety. Spaces are limited, so sign up early through the Programs registration portal. If you have accessibility needs or questions about the trail, contact the Parks & Trails team at 519-555-0100 or [email protected].

Meet at Tamarack Park Courts at 10:00 a.m. on March 15, 2027. The hike will last approximately two hours. Bring a water bottle and snacks. The trail winds through a mix of wooded areas and open meadows, so please stay with the group. This program is part of our March Break family activities series.
