Discover the factories, mills, and workshops that shaped Wrenford. Join us for an evening of local history at the Northgate Branch as we explore the industries that built our city along the Tamsin River.
Wrenford started with a grist mill in 1834, but the real growth came when water power and the railway brought manufacturing to our shores. In this talk, we will look at how the Tamsin River powered early mills, how the arrival of the railway in 1859 opened the floodgates for growth, and how automotive parts and food processing became the backbone of our local economy. You will see old photographs, maps, and documents from the Old Mill Museum & Archives collection.
This event is free and open to adults. No registration is required. Just drop in, bring your questions, and enjoy an evening of stories from Wrenford's working past. The library will provide light refreshments. The Northgate Branch is located at 900 Northgate Boulevard. Accessible entrances and washrooms are available.
We hope to see you there to learn how the mills, factories, and railways turned a small settlement into the City by the Falls.
