Come outside and enjoy the first signs of spring with your little ones at our weekly storytime session. We will gather at the Westbrook Park Shelter, located at 230 Westbrook Drive, on March 25, 2027, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. for songs, stories, and simple movements that help toddlers build early language skills. This free programme is designed for children under six and their caregivers.
No registration is required. You can simply show up and find a spot on the grass or at one of the picnic tables. We will read a few seasonal board books, sing familiar tunes, and try a simple craft using recycled materials. If the weather turns rainy or cold, we will move inside a nearby community centre or announce a cancellation on the Service Alerts page. Check the forecast before you head out, and dress your little ones in layers.
Bring a water bottle, a snack, and a small blanket or mat to sit on. Strollers are welcome, but please keep them off the main seating area so everyone has room. Diaper changes are available in the washrooms at the Westbrook Community Centre, located just a short walk away.
This event is part of our ongoing Recreation & Sport calendar and is run in partnership with the Wrenford Public Library Board. The library is an independent board, but we work together to bring these early learning sessions to neighbourhoods across the city. If you need assistance accessing the shelter, such as wheelchair routes or sensory-friendly seating, let us know when you arrive or call 519-555-0100.
We hope to see you there as we celebrate the changing season with books and play. For more family-friendly programming throughout the spring and summer, visit our Programs page.
