Do you love building video games and dreaming up cool characters? This February, the Wrenford Public Library invites kids ages 8 to 12 to our Junior Coders series. Join us for a hands-on workshop where you will design a winter game character from scratch. You will learn how to sketch ideas, pick colours, and think about how your character moves and acts in a game. No coding experience is needed to start—just bring your imagination.

Workshop leaders will guide you through simple digital tools to bring your designs to life. You will explore how game artists plan outfits, weapons, and special powers for winter-themed heroes and villains. By the end of the session, you will have a finished character profile you can take home or share with friends.

What to bring

Feel free to bring your own tablet, laptop, or drawing tablet if you use one at home. If you do not have a device, the library has computers and tablets ready for you to use. All software and materials are provided.
