Join us at the Wrenford Public Library — Ambrel Lake Branch for a hands-on session where you will learn the basics of game design and write your own simple program. Whether you love playing video games or have never opened a coding tool, this workshop is a fun way to get started.
During the two-hour class, you will plan a game, sketch out characters and levels, and build a working prototype on the library computers. You will use block-based coding, so no prior experience is needed. Bring a notebook and pencil to map out your ideas. If you have a laptop or tablet, feel free to bring it, but it is not required.
This program is for kids aged 8 to 12. Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay and watch, but children must attend to participate. Space is limited, so registration is required. You can sign up at the library desk or online through the Wrenford Public Library website.
The branch is located inside the Ambrel Lake Recreation Centre at 1300 Ambrel Lake Road, Wrenford, ON N4Q 5D4. The building is fully wheelchair accessible and has washrooms on site. For questions about the event, contact the library at 519-555-0132 or visit the branch page for more information.
