Get ready to glide safely this winter with the Ice Safety and Skating Skills Clinic. Whether you are picking up a pair of skates for the first time or you want to brush up on your balance, this hands-on session is for you. We will cover proper skating posture, how to stop safely, and how to judge ice thickness and conditions before you step onto the rink.

When: Saturday, February 20, 2027, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Westbrook Skate Park, 155 Hartley Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 2A4.

Cost: $10.00 per person.

Who: Youth and adults of all skill levels.

You must register to join. Spots are limited, so sign up early through the Wrenford Recreation & Culture portal or by calling 519-555-0100. Bring your own skates if you have them, but don't worry—we will have a few loaner pairs available for first-timers. Dress in warm layers, wear gloves, and bring a reusable water bottle and a snack.

The park is fully accessible. You will find a wheelchair-accessible entrance, level pathways, and accessible washrooms nearby. Our instructors are trained to work with participants of different abilities, so please let us know if you need any accommodations when you register.

Learn how to enjoy the cold months safely while staying active. We will review the By-laws briefly so you know where the City clears the snow and where you can skate. For more information about keeping active outdoors, check out our Parks & Trails and Facilities pages.
