Step outside and explore the Tamarack Woods on a guided winter nature walk. You will walk through a quiet, snow-dusted forest and learn how animals and plants survive the cold months. A Parks Planner will point out animal tracks, bird nests, and evergreen trees that stay green all year. This walk is great for all ages and anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoors in winter.
You should dress in warm layers and wear waterproof boots. Bring a reusable water bottle and a snack for the trail. The route is mostly flat and packed with snow, so wheelchairs and strollers can join us. If you need a mobility aid, just let us know when you register.
Registration is required because space is limited. You can sign up online through the Programs page or call 519-555-0100. Spaces fill up quickly, so register early.
The walk will go ahead in light snow. We will cancel or reschedule only if there is heavy snowfall, ice, or extreme cold. Check the Service Alerts page the morning of the event for updates.
Bring your camera and your curiosity. We will share tips on winter photography and leave no trace so the woods stay healthy for everyone.
