Spring is waking up along the Tamsin River watershed, and there is no better way to notice than with a guided walk through the wetlands near Ambrel Lake Park. On Saturday, March 20, 2027, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Wrenford Parks staff will lead you through the boardwalks and trails surrounding the stormwater lake. You will learn how wetlands filter rainwater, which early spring plants are pushing through the thaw, and how to spot returning migratory birds.
This program is free and open to adults and families. Children must be accompanied by an adult. We recommend wearing sturdy, waterproof boots and dressing in layers, as March weather in Wrenford can shift quickly. Please bring a reusable water bottle and a notebook if you would like to sketch or record what you see.
Accessibility note The main boardwalk at Ambrel Lake Park is paved and wheelchair friendly. The wetland trail does have some soft soil and uneven roots, so we suggest bringing a walking companion if you use a mobility aid. If you have specific access needs, contact us in advance so we can arrange the best route for your group.
Registration is required because groups are kept small for safety and to protect sensitive habitats. Register online or call 519-555-0100. Please meet at the Ambrel Lake Park picnic shelter area. If the weather is unsafe, we will email all registered participants with the cancellation or reschedule notice.
