Bring the whole family to Copper Ridge Park for a guided nature walk focused on winter bird preparation. On Saturday, November 14, Parks Planner Maya Chen-Watson will show you how to spot local birds as the weather turns chilly and what to expect during the colder months. This program is designed for families with school-age children who want to learn outdoor skills in a friendly setting.
We will walk the paved paths around the playground and benches while looking for tracks and identifying winter feathers. You will learn how to safely observe birds without disturbing them, and we will discuss simple ways to set up backyard feeders and shelter for the upcoming season. Because November in Wrenford can be cold and damp, please dress in warm layers, bring a hat and gloves, and wear sturdy, waterproof footwear.
Space is limited, so registration is required. Register online or call 519-555-0100. The park is wheelchair accessible and has washrooms nearby, but the trails are natural ground. If you need assistance or accommodations, please let us know when you register so we can help you enjoy the walk safely.
Meet at the main playground near the water fountain. The walk takes about ninety minutes and includes a short stop for hot chocolate. We will head inside or take shelter if it rains or snows heavily.
