Join us for a guided autumn walk along the Benchlands Lookout Trail on September 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This free, all-ages event invites residents of all fitness levels to enjoy the changing colours of Ontario’s escarpment landscape. A Parks & Trails staff member will lead the group along a gentle route, pointing out native trees, migratory birds, and the quiet rush of the Tamsin River below.

Whether you are a seasoned hiker or just looking for a relaxing afternoon outside, this walk is designed for everyone. The trail features a mix of packed gravel and paved sections, with a few gentle slopes. The route is mostly accessible, though some steeper grades near the lookout may require assistance or a sturdy walking aid. If you use a mobility device, please let us know ahead of time so we can plan the best path for you.

There is no registration required. Simply meet at the Benchlands Lookout Trailhead near the park entrance. We recommend wearing sturdy walking shoes, dressing in layers for the weather, and bringing a reusable water bottle. Binoculars are welcome if you want to spot local bird species. The walk takes about two hours, including time to rest at the top for photos and conversation.
