Thank you to everyone who joined us on September 12, 2026, for Family Fun Night at the Mercer Skate Plaza. It was a wonderful evening to enjoy the new downtown space with friends and neighbours. The plaza stayed open from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for families with children to roll, glide, and play together under the evening lights.
No registration was required, and admission was free. You could bring your own wheels or pick up a rental pair on site. Refreshments were available for purchase from a local food truck. The smooth, paved surface made it easy for strollers and wheelchairs, and accessible washrooms were located just steps away at City Hall.
Recreation & Culture staff were on hand to answer questions about upcoming youth programs and park improvements. We also shared tips on keeping your wheels in good shape and staying safe on the path. If you missed this event, check the event calendar for more ways to stay active and connect with your community. We look forward to seeing you at the next gathering.
