Bundle up and join us for a family-friendly winter hike through the trails of Ambrel Lake Park. This free event is designed for families with children who want to enjoy the outdoors during the colder months. We will meet at the main parking area on Sunday, February 15, 2027, at 10:00 a.m. and walk until 12:00 p.m.

Our guided route covers gentle, well-maintained paths around the lake. City staff will point out local wildlife and explain how the park's boardwalks and natural areas are protected through the winter. The pace is slow and stops are frequent, so it is comfortable for all ages and fitness levels.

After the hike, we will gather at the picnic shelter for hot cocoa and warm snacks. Please bring your own reusable cup, warm winter clothing, and sturdy boots. The trails can get icy in spots, so traction devices for your shoes are recommended. We will mark the easiest sections of the route for wheelchairs and strollers, though some natural terrain may be slippery.

No registration is required. Just show up at the parking lot on the day of the event. Free parking is available on site. If you have questions, call 519-555-0100 or visit the Parks & Trails page.
