Get ready to glide! The City of Wrenford is hosting a Family Day Family Fun Ski Race on Monday, February 15, 2027, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Orchard Park Outdoor Rink. This event is open to families with children who want to enjoy a little winter sport on the ice.
What to Expect
You will race across the frozen rink on skis, skates, or even snowshoes. There are no age limits, and beginners are welcome. You can race solo or team up with family and friends. The event features a flat, groomed course suitable for all skill levels. Volunteers from the Wrenford Transit and Recreation teams will be on site to help with course marking and finish line cheering.
What to Bring
Bring your own skis or snowshoes, though a few loaner pairs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Wear warm winter clothing, including gloves, a hat, and a scarf. Bring a thermos of hot cocoa or tea to keep warm after your run. Please note that the rink is an outdoor facility, so you will be outdoors for the full duration.
Accessibility
The rink surface is groomed and flat, making it accessible for participants using mobility aids who wish to join the fun. Accessible parking is available along Orchard Park Road, and the rink entrance has a cleared, paved path from the lot.
