Winter is coming, and so are the extra costs. This free workshop helps parents and guardians plan a realistic household budget for the colder months. You will learn simple strategies to keep your finances on track while covering heating, clothing, and holiday expenses.
During the session, our finance facilitator will walk you through a step-by-step budget planner. You will track your regular bills, identify areas where you can save, and set aside money for seasonal needs. We will also discuss how to involve children in money conversations so they understand saving and spending. Bring your own calculator and a notebook if you like, but you do not need to bring bills or personal financial details.
Space is limited, so you must register in advance. You can sign up online through the library's booking portal or call the Northgate Branch at 519-555-0131. Registration closes on November 6 at 4:30 p.m. Children under five are welcome, but you must stay with them during the workshop.
The Northgate Branch is fully accessible. The entrance has a ramp, and all washrooms are wheelchair accessible. If you need an accommodation or an interpreter, tell us when you register so we can make arrangements.
Refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there and helping your family get ready for the season ahead.
