Donating to the archives
Do you have old photographs, letters, maps, or objects that tell the story of Wrenford? The City Archives welcomes contributions from residents like you. Your donations help preserve our shared heritage for future generations. Whether it is a single item or a collection, every piece of history matters.
What we accept
We are looking for materials that document the history of our city. This includes:
- Photographs and negatives
- Personal diaries and letters
- Maps and surveys
- Official documents and records
- Artifacts from local industries or daily life
If you are unsure if an item is suitable, please contact us first. We can advise you on what fits our collection best. You can also view our full list of accepted materials on the Access city archives page.
How to donate
Donating is simple. You have two main options:
Drop-off: You can bring your items to the City Hall during business hours. Our staff will help you complete a simple donation form. This form ensures we can care for your item properly and gives you a record of your gift.
Pick-up: For large items or fragile documents, we can arrange a pick-up. Please call Wrenford 311 at 519-555-0111 to schedule a time. Our team will come to your home or office to collect the materials safely.
Ownership and rights
When you donate, you transfer ownership of the item to the City of Wrenford. You will receive a receipt for your records. While the city owns the physical item, we respect your connection to it. We often ask donors to share stories or context about the items, which helps us create better records for researchers and the public.
Some items may be sensitive or private. We handle all personal information with care and in accordance with privacy laws. If an item is not appropriate for public display, we will store it securely for future research.
