Register a community newsletter

Learn how to register your community newsletter with the City so it can be listed in our directory and receive official updates.

Why register?

Registering your community newsletter with the City of Wrenford helps your group connect with more residents. Once registered, your publication gets listed in the official Neighbourhoods directory. You will also receive monthly City updates, event calendars, and service alerts that you can share with your members. This keeps your community informed and helps the City reach local groups directly.

How to register

Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Fill out the Community Newsletter Registration Form. You can submit it online or print it and bring it to the Neighbourhoods Office.
  2. Submit your form by March 31 each year. We accept new registrations at any time, but annual renewal is due in the spring so we can keep our records current.
  3. Include a physical mailing address and a contact email. We need these to verify your group and send updates.
  4. Wait for a confirmation email from the Neighbourhoods Office. You will receive your listing number and a copy of the newsletter guidelines within ten business days.

Rules and guidelines

Your newsletter must focus on local community news and events. You can include:

  • Upcoming meetings and events
  • Local business spotlights (non-commercial)
  • Neighbourhood updates and volunteer opportunities
  • City service reminders

Please keep in mind:

  • All content must follow Canadian law and the City's community standards policy.
  • During municipal election periods, the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 applies. You must clearly label any political material as campaign material. The City does not endorse any candidate or party.
  • You must update your contact information if it changes. Outdated listings are removed to keep the directory accurate.
  • The City does not edit or approve your content, but we reserve the right to remove listings that break these rules or harm community trust.

Fees

Registration is free for community-focused newsletters. If your newsletter includes commercial advertising or is run by a business, a registration fee of $150.00 per year applies. You can pay online or by mail. All fees go toward maintaining the City's community outreach systems.
