What the fund supports
The Community Resilience Fund helps neighbourhood groups, non-profits, and local businesses protect their buildings, streets and public spaces from climate impacts. Wrenford is seeing more frequent heavy rain, flooding along the Tamsin River and Corvid Creek, and extreme heat waves. This fund pays for projects that keep our community safe and prepared.
Who can apply
You can apply if you are a registered neighbourhood association, a non-profit organisation, a community group, or a local business. You can apply on your own or partner with others in your ward. At least one applicant must live or work in Wrenford.
What the money can cover
- Planting trees and creating green spaces to cool neighbourhoods and soak up rain
- Installing rain gardens, permeable paving or swales to reduce local flooding
- Upgrading outdoor lighting or shelter structures for extreme weather
- Weather-proofing community centres, halls and small business storefronts
- Buying and installing emergency preparedness kits for community use
The fund does not cover routine maintenance, repairs for existing damage, or projects that simply replace what was already there.

Know your local climate risk
Before you start planning, find out which hazards affect your area. The Wrenford Climate Risk Index maps out flood zones, heat islands and storm exposure for every neighbourhood. Use the profile for your ward to pick a project that makes the most difference. You can view the profiles on the Community data dashboard or ask a Community Navigator for help at your nearest recreation centre.
