About the grants
The City of Wrenford supports local artists and cultural groups through the Arts & Heritage team. We offer funding for projects that bring people together and brighten our neighbourhoods. All grants are open to registered non-profits and unincorporated groups that serve Wrenford residents. If your group is not incorporated, a registered non-profit must accept the funding on your behalf and partner on the project.
Grant streams
Choose the funding stream that matches your needs:
- Project Grants — Up to $7,500 for one-time events, exhibitions, or community workshops. These grants cover things like artist fees, materials, and venue costs.
- Operating Grants — Up to $20,000 for registered non-profits that run ongoing arts programmes year-round. This funding helps cover staff wages, supplies, and rent.
- Space & Venue Subsidy — A 50 per cent discount on rental fees for City-owned cultural venues like the Fallsview Arts Centre and Railside Gallery. This is not a cash grant, but a direct reduction on your booking invoice.
How to apply
Applications are accepted twice a year. You must submit your package through the Wrenford Arts Portal before the deadline. Paper applications are not accepted at this time. We strongly recommend creating your account early so you can save your work and fix any errors before the system closes.
- Spring round: Opens March 1, closes April 15, 2027.
- Fall round: Opens September 1, closes October 15, 2027.
When you apply, please include a clear project description, a detailed budget, and a short note on how your work will benefit Wrenford communities. You can also bring your draft application to our drop-in office at Wrenford City Hall, Room 210, for free feedback before you submit.
Review and reporting
All applications are reviewed by a local peer review panel made up of artists and community members. The City aims to send you a decision letter within four weeks of the closing date. If your application is successful, you will receive funding and a simple agreement. You must submit a final report and receipt summary within 60 days of completing your project. Late reports may affect your eligibility for future grants. We also ask that you tag the City and the Arts & Heritage team in any social media posts about your funded project.
