The Wrenford Refugee Mentorship Program connects newcomers with experienced residents from the city. If you are a refugee family moving to Wrenford, you will be paired with a local volunteer mentor. This mentor will help you navigate daily life in Canada. They can guide you on finding employment, enrolling your children in school, and understanding local services.
If you are a long-term resident who wants to give back, you can volunteer as a mentor. You will receive training and support from the program coordinators. The program is completely free for everyone involved.
We hold coordination meetings on the first Wednesday of every month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., year-round, at the Railside Community Centre. These meetings are a chance for mentors and participants to connect, share experiences, and plan upcoming activities.
To join the program as a mentor or a participant, please reach out to our community development office. You can send an email to [email protected] with your name and a brief note about how you would like to get involved. A staff member will follow up with you to answer any questions and guide you through the next steps.
