You can help young skaters in Westbrook stay safe and build skills. The Westbrook Skate Park Mentors is a volunteer-run group that teaches safe skateboarding techniques to younger kids. Wrenford loves its skaters, and this program brings experienced riders together to look out for the next generation.
You'll learn how to teach proper stances, safe falling, and how to use the park features without getting hurt. We focus on fun, respect, and community spirit. This free program is for youth aged 8 to 16. Mentors guide participants through basics and building confidence on wheels.
Meetings are held on Saturdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. during July and August. Sessions take place at the Westbrook Skate Park, 155 Hartley Street, Wrenford, ON N4Q 2A4. Bring your own board and helmet. Helmets are required for all participants, and knee pads and elbow pads are recommended.
To join as a mentor or register your child, email the City's community development office at [email protected]. The City's community development office can answer questions about registration and volunteer roles.
