Join the Tamarack Woods Trail Maintainers and help keep our local trails safe and accessible. This volunteer group clears fallen branches, grades paths, and removes debris to make hiking and walking easier for everyone. You will be working outdoors in the woods, using basic hand tools to improve the walking experience for your neighbours.
The group meets on the first Sunday of every month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., from March through November. All you need to bring is a pair of sturdy boots and a willingness to help. The City provides the tools, gloves, and safety gear. You must be 16 years old or older to join a work day.
Participation is completely free. You do not need any previous trail-building experience. Our experienced trail leaders will show you how to use the equipment and keep your hands safe while you work. It is a great way to meet neighbours, get some fresh air, and take care of the trails we all enjoy.
To sign up or find out more, contact the City's community development office at [email protected]. They will put your name on the volunteer roster and email you the meeting location and safety details for the next work day.
