The Southview Nutrition and Cooking Club teaches affordable, healthy cooking techniques and hosts communal meals. Whether you are looking to stretch your grocery budget, try new seasonal recipes, or just enjoy a home-cooked meal with others, this group is for you. The club welcomes families and individuals of all ages and skill levels.
Meetings are held at Southview Park, where participants gather in the park shelter for hands-on cooking demonstrations and shared dining. The club meets on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., running from September through May.
There is no strict registration process. Simply show up on a meeting day and introduce yourself to the volunteer coordinator at the park shelter. A suggested donation of $5 helps cover ingredient costs and park shelter fees. Participants are welcome to bring a dish to share or a favourite recipe to swap with the group.
If you have questions about upcoming menus, accessibility accommodations, or how to volunteer with the club, please contact the City's community development office at [email protected].
