Keep your green thumb busy with the Riverside Flats Gardeners. This volunteer group helps maintain community garden plots along the Tamsin River and organizes harvest shares so local residents can enjoy fresh produce. Whether you have years of experience or are just starting out, you are welcome to help dig, plant, and weed.
Residents pay a yearly membership fee of $15.00. The fee covers garden tools, soil amendments, and water access. To join or to learn how you can support the harvest shares, please reach out to the City's community development office at [email protected]. A staff member will connect you with the group leaders and send you a registration form.
The group meets at the Riverside Flats Market Pavilion on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from May through September. You can drop in to help with weeding, watering, or setting up compost piles. Bring your own gloves and a reusable water bottle. Check the Parks & Trails page for updates on plot availability, and visit the Community section for other ways to get involved in neighbourhood projects.
