You can join the Riverside Flats Community Association to help preserve and share the industrial heritage of the old mill district. The group organises exhibits and leads tours that show the history of the area. You can also take part in research projects and help plan community events.
Meetings are held at the Old Mill Museum & Archives. The museum is at 12 Mill Street. It features a restored 1834 grist mill and a city archives reading room. You can meet there on the second Thursday of each month from September to May. Meetings run from 7 to 9 p.m.
This group is for history enthusiasts and former residents who want to keep the stories of the mill district alive. Annual membership includes a newsletter and discounts on special tours. Membership costs $15 a year.
