Railside Youth Theatre

A volunteer-run youth group that trains and produces spring musicals and autumn one-act plays.

Railside Youth Theatre is a volunteer-run group that gives young people in Wrenford a chance to explore acting, singing and stagecraft. If you are between 8 and 18 years old, you can join. The group runs two seasons each year. In the fall, you will work with your teammates to write and perform original one-act plays. In the spring, the group puts on a full musical for the community.

Rehearsals take place at the Railside Community Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. You will meet in the fall from August to October, and in the spring from February to April. You do not need any prior acting experience to start. Experienced volunteers and local artists guide you through script reading, vocal exercises and stage blocking. Everyone gets a role that matches your interests and skill level.

Joining costs $50.00 per season. This fee covers the use of rehearsal space, basic props and costume materials. If you need help paying, you can ask the community development office for a fee waiver or a reduced rate. Spaces are limited, so it is best to sign up early.

To join or learn more about auditions and rehearsals, contact the City's community development office at [email protected]. They will send you a registration form and a list of what to bring to your first rehearsal.
