Do you enjoy getting your hands in the soil and watching things grow? The Old Mill Urban Gardeners is a volunteer group that maintains raised beds and composting systems in the Old Mill Urban Garden. You do not need any special tools or previous gardening experience to join. We welcome neighbours of all ages and skill levels who want to help keep our community green.
When and where to meet
We gather every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., between May and September. Our work site is the Old Mill Urban Garden, just a short walk from the Old Mill Museum & Archives. Bring your own gardening gloves and a reusable water bottle. We provide the tools, seeds, and soil.
Who can join
This group is open to Old Mill neighbourhood residents and anyone who wants to learn more about local growing and composting. Families are welcome, and we often have activities for children who want to help with watering or planting.
Cost
There is no cost to join or participate. All materials are provided through our community partnerships.
How to get involved
